1. The Kiyo Dating System
During the Japanese Occupation, the “Syonan” era name was used in official records—marking 1942 as “Syonan Year 17” (2602) and 1943 as “Syonan Year 18” (2603). This certificate shows how “Syonan” was later crossed out as Singapore transitioned back to peace. Road names (including those near Tan Tock Seng Hospital) and personal documents were temporarily changed to Japanese names, leaving traces of this historical period.

2. Recording Death in a Time of Crisis
Cause of death was often documented in Malay.

3. Receipt for Funeral Services (1942-1945)
This receipt, issued by Wee Bros. (Undertakers) to Rev. Hong Han Keng, details funeral arrangements during the Japanese Occupation.

4. Infant Baptism (1930)This Certificate of Baptism for Tan I Pit was issued on 20 April 1930 by the Methodist Episcopal Church.

5. Adult Baptism (1936)This Certificate of Baptism was issued on 1936 by the Chinese Methodist Church (now Telok Ayer Chinese Methodist Church).
